This wall was in rough shape...
At over 75 feet long, this wall extends from the barn and terminates in a pillar where a pasture gate used to hang. This wall is part of the barn enclosure and has suffered massive failure due to neglect, weather, nature and time. This will be a beautiful wall when we have put it back to rights.
First we have to clear it out and sort out the usable stone from the dirt and weeds...
It’s a fairly straightforward procedure to complete what nature started. Down it comes to the ground as we clear the stone, rubble, dirt and debris into something resembling order. Then it’s playtime with the stone!
Piece by piece...
As the days go by, steady progress is made. Every project has a different pace and, at the request of our client, this one was woven in a relaxed manner around other jobs 1 day a week over the course of 18 months. This will be a staggeringly bucolic setting and venue for country weddings as the barn is being repaired and groomed as well. At the time I create this page, we are nearing completion and more pictures are forthcoming!
